Option 1: Individual Membership

Individual Membership is open to people living in Newfoundland and Labrador who consider themselves seniors and support the Seniors Food Co-operative’s mission and values.

Once membership and share purchase requirements are completed, Individual Members can:

• Vote at Annual General Meetings (AGMs) and Special Meetings
• Access all member rights, benefits, and privileges offered by the Co-operative Group Membership.

To be admitted as a regular member of the Seniors Food Co-operative, you must:

• Have reached your 50th birthday or identify as a senior
• Reside in Newfoundland and Labrador
• Support the objectives of the Co-operative
• Enter into a membership agreement with the Co-operative
• Promote the sustainability of the Co-operative by supporting the services it provides
• Appoint or elect a person(s) representing the membership to act on their behalf
• Purchase shares in the Co-operative as outlined in the membership by-laws
• Provide a written signature confirming acceptance of membership in the Co-operative

Group Membership is available to:

• Non-profit organizations incorporated in Newfoundland and Labrador
• Registered charities
• Co-operatives incorporated under Newfoundland and Labrador legislation

Organizations must support the Seniors Food Co-operative’s mission and values.

Once membership and share purchase requirements are completed, Group Members can:

• Access all member rights, benefits, and privileges offered by the Co-operative
• Vote at AGMs and Special Meetings through an appointed delegate.

To be admitted as a group member of the Co-operative, you must:

• Be an incorporated organization 
• Have a defined membership who may in turn avail of the services of the Co-operative
• Support the objectives of the Co-operative
• Enter into a partnership agreement with the Co-operative
• Promote the sustainability of the Co-operative by supporting the services it provides
• Appoint or elect a person(s) representing the membership to act on their behalf
• Purchase shares in the Co-operative as outlined in these membership by-laws
• Provide a written signature confirming acceptance of affiliated membership in the Co-operative
• The defined membership of an affiliated member may in turn avail of Co-operative services on entering into an affiliated membership agreement with the Co-operative
